MR emerged from a hardware department within a supermarket, and has since then developed into the company it is today. Here’s a quick look at our history:

• 1961- a supermarket selling mainly clothing, food items and household items etc was established.
• 1986- the supermarket grew to include a hardware division that marked the very beginnings of GMR.
• 1996- G.M.R MUHAMMAD & SONS (PTY) LTD was officially established.
• 1999- the hardware business eventually became the sole operation, outsourcing its supermarket division to a local supermarket chain.
• Today- GMR has now evolved to be one of Fiji’s leading hardware service providers.
